The Pressure of a Perfect Frame & Forgetting Flavours

When creating content takes over the kitchen, even your eggs go cold.

Ever since I got the camera, something shifted.

Not just in the quality of the videos, but in me. Suddenly, every shot felt like it had to prove something. Every angle had to be just right. If the light wasn’t hitting the toast perfectly or the coffee steam didn’t swirl just so, I’d find myself reshooting. Repositioning. Rethinking.

It was exhausting!

Because somewhere deep down, I started feeling like I owed it to the camera, to my audience, to YOU. Like investing in it meant I couldn’t afford to fumble anymore, that everything I created had to reflect the “upgrade.”

But the truth? I’ve spent more time adjusting tripods than enjoying breakfast lately. And that’s not what I set out to do.

So this week, I paused. Erm, I tried to at least. I stopped trying to make every crumb camera-worthy. I reminded myself that the point of this space, The Brekkie Club, was never perfection. It was present. And process. And learning as I go.

Five issues in, I’m still very much in the middle of making. And maybe that’s exactly where I’m supposed to be right now. I’m going to take this slow. I’ll keep reminding myself, “My people will understand, that’s what they always do.”

A Side of Health, Please

If I’m being honest, breakfast hasn't been a priority this past week. I’ve been waking up with to-do lists instead of an appetite. Skipping meals. Snacking instead of sitting down. Not exactly the founder-of-a-breakfast-brand energy, I know.

And it’s funny, The Brekkie Club was born out of a love for slow, intentional mornings. But building something you love can sometimes pull you away from the very thing that inspired it.

This week’s health check-in isn’t about a smoothie recipe or a high-protein win. It’s a reminder to eat on time. To eat well. To sit, breathe, and remember that fuel comes before flow.

The perils of waking up at noon

Here’s to getting back at the table. One bite at a time. Are you with me? Let’s eat slowly, on time, chew enough, drink plenty of water, and loosen our shoulders a bit? We are running against time on everything in life. So, let’s slow down a bit?

Breakfast Binge Alert: Last Week on TBC

Between tripod tweaks and breakfast delays, the kitchen still found its way back to what matters, simple, honest food. Here’s what made it to the plate (and the channel) this week.

Crispy Breakfast Tostadas with Eggs & Veggies (A crunchy, colorful morning pick-me-up topped with sautéed veggies, creamy avocado, and a fried egg)

Healthy Tiramisu-Inspired French Toast (All the indulgence of tiramisu, none of the guilt, this dreamy French toast skips the sugar and cream but keeps the comfort)

Warm Apple Crumble with Cinnamon & Oats (A cozy, golden-crusted crumble that brings together tender apples, toasted oats, and a hint of cinnamon)

Before You Go…

Wherever you are right now, perfecting something, fumbling through it, or quietly starting over, I hope you know that you’re allowed to be in the middle too.

Five issues in, and this newsletter continues to be a grounding force in my week. Even when I’m running behind or doubting the angles or wondering if it’s “enough,” I come back to this space, and to you.

If today’s note felt familiar, comforting, or just gave you a nudge, I’d love to hear from you. Hit reply or say hi on Instagram. Or better yet, share this with someone who could use a gentle start to their week.

Until next time..
