What I Didn’t Buy This Week (and Why It Felt Good)
This week’s win? New video format & unbought grocery items
The new vlog-style format has been a quiet joy—slow, wholesome, and wonderfully reflective of how my mornings really feel.
But I’ll be honest, there’s a part of me itching to try more. New formats, new ways to tell stories, new ways to show food beyond just the plate.
I’m not entirely sure what that looks like yet, but I’m figuring it out. And if you’ve got suggestions, formats you love watching, or even wild ideas, my inbox is open.
This week, I kept showing up. I wrote. I cooked. I filmed. A little less polish, a little more presence. And that, in itself, felt like progress.
A Shift in Focus (Literally)
Lately, I’ve felt this quiet urge to photograph more.
While video is where the internet energy is right now—fast, scrollable, looping reels, there’s something about still images that pulls me in. The way a photograph captures light, holds onto color, and lets texture speak... it feels more intentional. More present.
I’ve been thinking about exploring it more seriously this week. Slowing down to frame a perfect toast shot or chase the way coffee steam curls in the morning sun.
Not to replace video, but to reconnect with a different kind of storytelling.
Let’s see where it leads.
A Side of Health, Please
Health this week looked like… saying no.
Not loudly. Not dramatically. Just a quiet pause in the grocery aisle. A moment of checking in “Do I really want this, or is it just habit?”
There was a time I picked up things without reading the label, tossed in what looked easy, familiar, or crave-worthy. But lately, I’ve been setting things back down. Boxes with too much fine print. Bottles with twenty ingredients, when I only recognize five.

Not because I’m trying to be perfect, I’m not. But because the more I cook, the more I care about what’s in what I eat. The more I slow down, the more I notice what feels good.
And this week, saying no to a few quick fixes felt like saying yes to myself. My pantry looks a little simpler. My breakfasts feel a little cleaner. And somehow, my meals felt tastier when my mind was satisfied.
